Coimbatore: Kolathur Mani, President of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) and other organisations petitioned the SP demanding clarity in the death of Shobana, wife of Dr. Ramesh from Thadagam who lost her life in a road accident near Jambukandi here on Monday.
Coimbatore: Kolathur Mani, President of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) and other organisations petitioned the SP demanding clarity in the death of Shobana, wife of Dr. Ramesh from Thadagam who lost her life in a road accident near Jambukandi here on Monday.
Dr. Ramesh, an environmental activist lost his wife when the scooter she drove was hit by a motorcycle which was driven allegedly by a man in a.drunken state. Following the incident, Dr. Ramesh protested at the accident spot besides his wife's corpse demanding immediate closure of the TASMAC.
As a result, the bar was temporarily shut down. Meanwhile, Kolathur Mani of DVK and various other organisations filed a complaint at the office of Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, today.
The petition alleged that no medical test was conducted to ensure that the perpetrators were under the influence of alcohol. "The police dept did not bother to know about the whereabouts of the culprits, which raises suspicion if the police are acting in favour of the culprits."
Kolathur Mani questioned as to why the details of the perosn involved in the accident is not yet revealed?.
